Friday's Football Forecast-Week 2
By Andrew Ferrell
Geez! Stick a fork in the Wizard last week 'cause he was done. Last week's 1-2 performance was an embarrassing showing for him, but it was the first games of the season. No excuses this week, plus there is only two games to predict with the Columbia City-Whitko rivalry coming back to surface. As a fun, fill-in third game, the Wizard is going to extend his predictions to teams just outside the area.
Churubusco at Central Noble @ 7:30 pm
After last week's 46-0 routing of Fremont and last season's 39-0 shutout of Central Noble, the Wizard says, same ole thing for the Eagles. Central Noble should be better than last year and they do have home field advantage, but Eagle senior Kyle Mathewson is too much for the Cougars.
Churubusco 42 Central Noble 7
Whitko vs. Columbia City @ 7 pm
After a five year recess, the Whitko-Columbia City rivalry is back in session. Since their break, both teams have two coaches that have never been head-to-head, and as an added bonus, both teams are coming off winning weeks. The Wildcats shutout Wawasee 20-0 and the Eagles smoked Warsaw 35-16. The Wizard says the Eagles win might be a bit bigger momentum booster, but then again Wawasee is no pushover. The Wizard says...
If Columbia City comes with a high-powered offense...
CC 35 Whitko 21
If Whitko holds Columbia City to three and out...
Whitko 20 CC 17
Homestead at Warsaw @ 7 pm
The fill-in game of the week should not be much of a battle, especially if Warsaw doesn't come with much fire. Homestead is too strong. Although, the last time this game was played at Warsaw, the Tigers stunned the Spartans. The Wizard says, "not again."
Homestead 45 Warsaw 10
