Monday night marked the 2nd time in 3 seasons that the Whitko Lady Wildcats played in the sectional final game, both times falling short. One can't help but think that next season, a season where everyone returns but one, will be the lucky charm. In the meantime, the Lady Wildcats head into the off season with fuel added to the fire after a 76-35 loss to the North Wood Lady Panthers in the sectional title game on Monday night.
Whitko hung around for the first quarter of play, on the shooting of Micaela Sylvester, to only be down 19-9 at the sound of the buzzer to end the first quarter. However, North Wood laid it on thick for the next three quarters, while Whitko simply couldn't maintain offensive production and lost 76-35.
Leading the way for the Lady Wildcats was sophomore Micaela Sylvester with 9 points and Sylvester's performance was followed by Whitko senior Amanda Allender with 7 points. North Wood's Courtney Frantz led all scores with 13.
