'Busco, Columbia City both lose Sectional bids

It was an exciting night of boys' sectional basketball action in Whitley County tonight, but, despite well-played games that were down to the wire, no local teams will move forward to the next level.
Wawasee won over Columbia City with a score of 73 to 70.
Central Noble won over Churubusco with a score of 64 to 59.

Finals boys' swim team results

Saturday the boys swim team finished their season with the finals of sectionals at Warsaw High School.  Those boys that swam had qualified Thursday in the top 12 and competed again on Saturday for final placement and points.  Those boys returning were:
 
200 Im Relay                       7th  Devin Moore, Kevin Hershberger, Garrett Vandersaul, and Kyle Mertz


200 Free Relay                   6th  Jeff Gruettert, Kevin Hershberger, Justan Moss, and Garrett Vandersaul


400 Free Relay                   8th  Jeff Gruettert, Justan Moss, Jordan Esterline, and Garrett Vandersaul

Prelim boys' sectional results

Friday night the boys swim team competed at Warsaw in sectional preliminaries, those making the top 12 in each event will go on to Saturday to compete for final placing and team points.   Those advancing were:
 
Jeff Gruettert in the 200 free and 500 free


Kevin Hershberger in the 200 Im and the 100 Breastroke


Garrett Vandersaul in the 50 free


Devin Moore in the 100 Butterfly and in the 100 Backstroke
 
200 free relay made top 6   Gruettert, Vandersaul, Hershberger, and Moss
