Luanne Freshour, 62, of Columbia City, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at her home. She had been in failing health for many years.

She was born December 27, 1946, in Allen County. She was a daughter of Simon and Betty (Gradeless) Luther. A lifelong resident of Whitley County, her formative years were spent in Jefferson Township. She graduated from Columbia City High School.

In the late 1960s, she moved into Columbia City. She was employed at Magnavox for 24 years.

Her memberships include Laud Christian Church and Eagles #1906 Auxiliary.

Surviving relatives include three children, Trudy Hively, Slade (Kari) Freshour and Sarah Freshour, all of Columbia City; five grandchildren, Stephanie Hartsock, Kelsey Pulver, Taylor Hartsock, Kole Freshour and Klaire Freshour; her parents, Simon & Betty Luther of Columbia City; a brother and a sister, Lex (Renee) Luther and Melinda (Andy) Lowe, all of Fort Wayne.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. James Clifford officiating. The burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
