         <description><![CDATA[<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Nedra Moudy Krider celebrated 98th birthday&nbsp;</h3><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">&nbsp;</p><em>Nedra Moudy Krider, above, graduated from Churubusco High School in 1929. Nedra celebrated her 98th birthday Friday. With the exception of only a few years, Nedra lived her entire life in Churubusco, beginning when she was born in a house on East Whitley Streeton July 25, 1910. <p><em>By Viv Sade</em></p></em><p>When Nedra Moudy Krider was born on July 25, 1910, the Boy Scouts of America had just formed in Chicago, Tel Aviv was one month old, Chicago celebrated the opening of its new ball stadium, Comiskey Park, and the U.S. Congress established Glacier National Park in Montana. <img height="300" hspace="6" src="http://www.talkofthetownwc.com/congratulations/images/congratulations/Nedra.jpg" width="222" align="right" vspace="6" border="1" /></p><p>On Friday, July 25, Nedra celebrated her 98th birthday.</p><p>Nedra, a lifelong resident of Churubusco, now resides in Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne. </p><p>Decked out in her favorite color - pink - with lots of pink jewelry and accessories, Nedra is seen in the hallways every day, greeting other residents and each staff member with a smile and a &ldquo;hello&rdquo; or &ldquo;how are you?&rdquo; </p><p>Always an attractive woman - impeccably dressed and decked out in bright colors and her trademark earrings and heels - not much has changed, even though she is nearing 100 years of age.</p><p><a href="http://www.buscovoice.com/2008/07/24/lifelong-teacher-writer-mother-and-icon-of-the-community-celebrates-98-years-of-life/" target="_blank">Click here</a> to read more at our Whitley News Network partner site, BuscoVoice.com.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Sarah Marie (Frecker) and Scott Alan Archer wed&nbsp;</h3><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Sarah Marie (Frecker) and Scott Alan Archer exchanged vows in a nuptial ceremony April 26, 2008, at the History Center in Fort Wayne. <img height="451" hspace="6" src="http://www.talkofthetownwc.com/congratulations/images/congratulations/ArcherWedding.jpg" width="300" align="right" vspace="6" border="1" /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">The bride works for the Boys Scouts, serving Whitley and Kosckiusko Counties. She is a member of the Columbia City Rotary and Whitley County Drug Free Indiana.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">The groom is employed by East Allen County Schools.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">The couple met through an online dating service &ndash; but should have met much earlier, it seems. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">&ldquo;We were both in Marching Band (Northrup and Harding respectively),&rdquo; Sarah said, &ldquo;and marched in at least 15-20 of the same events as well as competed in concert band at the same location over three years.&rdquo;</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Additionally, the groom went to school with the bride&rsquo;s cousin and had likely been at the same events and locations on numerous occasions while growing up &ndash; but never met each other.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">&ldquo;Just never made that connection,&rdquo; Sarah adds.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Further adding to the joining of these families, Scott will be adopting Sarah&rsquo;s 7-year-old daughter, Makayla.</p>]]></description>

Teachers include Nicole Thompson, Susan Lewis, Cathy Shively and Karen Van Voorst. Staff includes administrative assistant Kathy Bills and interim administrator Nicole Trier. Their commitment to excellence in education and commitment to teaching in a Christian environment is exemplary.</p><h3>Whitko Middle School &quot;Dress Up Days&quot;...</h3><p>Congratulations to Whitko Middle School students Michael Dimmick, Luke Senseny, Zach Nave and Conner Strouder who coordinated a fundraising effort at their school, raising $1200 to support Oxfam International, providing dairy goats to African families, and Nothing But Nets, an organization that fights malaria. The students paid $1 per day to participate in various dress-up events at the school. The top fundraising class was Mrs. Knepple's homeroom.</p>]]></description>
