Salvation Army week highlights good accomplished in the community

National Salvation Army Week is May 10-16th. Celebrating 130 years of service to Americans in need. National Salvation Army Week was officially recognized by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954. President Eisenhower stated that, "Among Americans, The Salvation Army has long been a symbol of wholehearted dedication to the cause of human brotherhood. Their work has been a constant reminder to us all that each of us is a neighbor and kin to all Americans. Giving freely of themselves, the men and woman of The Salvation Army have won the respect of us all."

As the Whitley County Salvation Army Community Ministries Specialist, I would like to thank everyone who have made contributions of time, items and dollars to make families lives better in our community. We simply could not continue without so much support. I welcome anyone to stop by the office and see what we are able to do for Whitley County. Here is a few things we are able to provide rental assistance, seasonal help, Tools for School, School Worx (new shoes for kids returning to school), a hygiene pantry, child abuse awareness programs, cooking classes and so much more.

I am lucky and blessed to be able to help those in need in Whitley County...and it's all because of you.

Thank you and God Bless,
Pat Mossburg
