Plow Day committee thanks community for their support

The 4th Plow Day and Benefit was held on Saturday, September 19, 2009.   We appreciate your attendance and donations again this year. With your help we were able to help the Duane Loe & Jesse Schwartz families and the local food bank. We would also like the thank Amos and Emma Schwartz for being our hosts again this year.

Plow Day is a very special day, a day to enjoy being in the country and living at a slower pace, where we can have a great time while we are helping others.  There were over 1500 people who attended and 83 tractors plowing along with a 12 horse and an 8 horse hitch plowing 194 acres of wheat stubble. Whether you came to watch them plow, for the 6 hogs that were roasted, the kettle corn, the craft demonstrations, watching the apple butter and cider making, cream separating and butter making, bake sale, the children’s games & pony rides, to watch the blacksmith, ride in a horse drawn wagon to the field and watch them plow, drive the horses or just spend a beautiful day in the country.

Thank you everyone!

The Plow Committee
