Born of a passion for promoting the many good things happening in our community, Talk of the Town is Whitley County's online source for positive news about businesses, non-profits, government and the people that make our community great.
The site began in November 2007 purely for the sake of telling the stories less often told in our community and for highlighting the good we have to offer.
Talk of the Town is proud to be locally owned and independently operated by Jennifer Zartman Romano, a lifelong Whitley County resident with roots in this county dating back to 1848.
Talk of the Town is supported entirely by advertisers and individuals that care about positive news and supporting everything wonderful Whitley County has to offer.
Now two years-old, the website is a place where we can be proud of what our non-profit organizations are doing, celebrate our triumphs and tout our business community. Additionally, we hope it will be an alternative place to share news about your anniversaries, weddings, engagements, babies, religious celebrations, career advancements, company expansions and more.
The site features not only a place for news, but an expansive calendar and opportunities discussion with your family, friends, neighbors and associates.
In time, we plan to add even more to this site and we hope you'll visit daily to learn more about what is happening in our community. I want this site to be a place open to the positive exchange of information, ideas and points of view. We're still developing and adding new areas each day.

I just wanted to drop by and say that I think you are doing a fantastic job here. This blog has a nice mix of good design, relevant information, and (most importantly) photos!
Jennifer, I wish to thank you for the wonderful nomination letter you wrote about Stephanie and Shawn.
Just wanted you to know that Stephanie pulled Jeannie Amstutz out of her house fire at Loon Lake on 20 May, Tuesday. The Columbia City Post & Mail did not mention this and I think she needs just a little mention somewhere. I am very proud of her.
Love your on-line paper.
